Engraved Bricks
Engraved bricks helped fund the Grove Plaza’s construction. Over 14,000 personalized
bricks surround the plaza fountain. If you are trying to locate an engraved brick, contact Michele Corral at 384-4264.
The engraved brick locations are described by a row number and a directional letter
(N or S). For example, if your brick row is 97-N go to the north half of the circle
and find 97-N and look in that row for your brick. Follow these same instructions
for a brick in the south half of the circle.
Time Capsule
For the Plaza’s inauguration in 1988 local school children were asked to write
essays about what Boise would look like in 25 years. Selected essays together with
an Idaho Statesman newspaper were buried in a time capsule. At the Plaza's 20th anniversary celebration on November 23, 2007, the time capsule was opened and Mayor Bieter read excerpts from
several of the essays. Read selected essays.
For information on all the essays please contact CCDC at 384-4264.
