For projects in Boise's urban renewal districts, the Boise City Zoning Ordinance requires a finding that approval of zoning, conditional use and design review applications are consistent with the applicable urban renewal plan. The urban renewal plans for the Central District and River/Myrtle District have been incorporated into the Boise City Comprehensive Plan by reference, and the city is in the process of doing the same for the Westside Downtown urban renewal plan. Boise City refers development applications in urban renewal districts to CCDC for its recommendation as to whether the proposal is consistent with the urban renewal plan and what conditions should be placed on any approval. We encourage developers to meet with us early, preferably before a formal application is filed with the city, to discuss how an urban renewal plan would apply to a development project or site, so that the plan's concepts, guidelines and standards can be taken into account as the project is designed. The project maps show development projects within CCDC districts that are completed or underway. Project descriptions explain the agency's involvement where applicable.
